The Great Job Vlog #15: Flights of Fancy

  1. Is Eric not a believer in "new media"? I kinda got that vibe from the beginning segment. Also, I feel college professors that are not at a research university (ie. hired to teach) are the way you describe Hogwarts mentors.

Good choices all around though, cheers!

  2. Well, I'm just always on the lookout for times when we are perhaps being too insular in regards to geek culture (mind you, I once tried to argue that the death of George Lucas would have a bigger global impact than the death of Michael Jackson). If a sneezing panda can get 4 million YouTube views, what's gonna happen when the "Two and a Half Men" audience finally discovers web series(es) and demands programming suited to their tastes? This is kind of an elitist view, though all I'm really saying is that being the "most famous" web series is a little like winning Miss Congeniality.

Also, I am jealous because I work at a place where absolutely no one shares my sense of humor or point of view, and would much rather work for some piddling web series :P

  3. Atlanta, Georgia! Cloud City, Star Wars!

  4. Great picks! Mine would include The Beast's enchanted castle, Narnia, and the labyrinth.

  5. I would love Hogwarts as well, and would choose Hill Valley, CA circa 2015, as I desperately want a HoverBoard. I'd also put Metropolis on my list. It'd be great to know that Superman was around. And even though there was lots of dangerous stuff on that Lost island, I'd still like to go there for the gorgeous beaches, jungle, and random time travel.
