I haven't seen "The Island," but from what I heard it just seemed like the similarities were coincidental. I vaguely remember a controversy involving ideas stolen from some other movie that wasn't "Logan's Run." More of a homage/ripoff than a remake.
Chronicles of Prydain for the win! I would also like to see the Guardians of Time trilogy and The 21 Balloons made into movies.
